Fund for the Arts
As part of the ongoing effort to fortify and sustain the Academy, Adele Chatfield-Taylor, FAAR’84, and John Guare, RAAR’13, have established a Fund for the Arts at the American Academy in Rome.
In the past, arts programming at the Academy has lacked dedicated funding for the realization of specific projects, including readings, lectures, concerts, performances, exhibitions, installations, conferences, and symposia in the disciplines of architecture, landscape architecture and the environment, design and visual arts, historic preservation and conservation, literature, and music. Expenses associated with arts programs, such as research, planning, insurance, shipping, installation, security, and rehearsal, have outstriped allocations from the annual operating budget, a situation that prevents some good ideas from coming to fruition. The Adele Chatfield-Taylor and John Guare Fund for the Arts will provide an endowment to help solve this problem. We invite you to honor Adele’s 25-year tenure (1988-2013) by contributing to it.
